Samsung launches the Galaxy S26 series with the world’s first built-in Privacy Display, upgraded Galaxy AI features, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, improved cameras, bigger batteries, and prices starting at $899.99, with sales beginning March 11, 2026.

New Delhi: Samsung has officially launched its new Galaxy S26 series, bringing major upgrades in privacy, artificial intelligence, design, performance, and cameras. The lineup includes three models — Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra — and was unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25, 2026, in San Francisco. Samsung calls these its “most intuitive Galaxy AI phones yet.” Instead of a dramatic redesign, the company has focused on making everyday use simpler, smarter, and more secure.

Design: Slimmer, Lighter and More Unified

For the first time in years, Samsung has given all three models a similar design style. The phones now have more rounded corners, thinner bodies, and lighter weight while still offering a premium look and feel.

  • Galaxy S26: 71.7 x 149.6 x 7.2 mm, 167 g
  • Galaxy S26+: 75.8 x 158.4 x 7.3 mm, 190 g
  • Galaxy S26 Ultra: 78.1 x 163.6 x 7.9 mm, 214 g (the slimmest and lightest Ultra ever)

All three devices come with strong Armor Aluminum frames and IP68 water and dust resistance. Color options include Black, White, Sky Blue, and Cobalt Violet. Samsung.com exclusive colors include Pink Gold and Silver Shadow.

Display: First-Ever Built-in Privacy Display

Galaxy S26: 6.3-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate
Galaxy S26+: 6.7-inch QHD+ display
Galaxy S26 Ultra: 6.9-inch QHD+ display with anti-reflective coating and Vision Booster

The biggest highlight is the world’s first built-in Privacy Display on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This feature uses pixel-level light control to hide sensitive content like passwords, notifications, and banking apps from people viewing the screen from side angles. At the same time, the display remains completely clear for the user. The feature can be turned on through the Quick Panel or set for specific apps.

Performance: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy

All three models run on the custom Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip built on a 3nm process. In some markets, the Galaxy S26 and S26+ may come with the Exynos 2600 processor.

Compared to the previous S25 Ultra, performance improvements include:

  • Up to 19% faster CPU
  • 24% better GPU performance for gaming and graphics
  • 39% improved NPU for AI processing

A larger redesigned vapor chamber keeps the phones cool during heavy gaming or AI tasks. All models run Android 16 with One UI 8.5.

Camera: Better Low-Light and Smarter AI

The Galaxy S26 Ultra continues to lead in camera performance:

  • 200 MP main camera (f/1.4 aperture — 47% brighter)
  • 50 MP ultra-wide (f/1.9)
  • 50 MP 5x telephoto (f/2.9 — 37% brighter)
  • 10 MP 3x telephoto
  • 12 MP front camera

The Galaxy S26 and S26+ feature a 50 MP main camera with improved low-light capabilities.

All models share new AI-powered tools, including:

  • Enhanced Nightography for better night photos and videos
  • Text-prompt Photo Assist
  • Creative Studio for creating stickers and wallpapers
  • Document Scan feature

Battery and Charging

The Galaxy S26 is expected to feature a 4,300 mAh battery with 25W wired charging support. The Galaxy S26+ may come with a larger 4,900 mAh battery and 45W wired charging. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is likely to pack a 5,000 mAh battery with faster 60W wired charging, which can reportedly charge the device up to 75% in just 30 minutes.

All models support wireless charging and PowerShare.

Galaxy AI: Smarter and More Proactive

Samsung describes this as its most advanced Galaxy AI experience so far. The new AI features are designed to work in the background and assist users automatically.

  • Now Nudge: Gives smart suggestions based on context, such as offering trip photos when someone asks about your vacation.
  • Now Brief: Provides short personalised updates and reminders.
  • Upgraded Bixby: Better natural language understanding.
  • Gemini and Perplexity integration: Supports advanced multi-step AI tasks.
  • Improved Photo Assist and Creative Studio with text prompts.

Thanks to the improved NPU, these AI features run smoothly without draining the battery and maintain strong on-device privacy.

Price and Availability

The Galaxy S26 is expected to start at $899.99, while the Galaxy S26+ may be priced from $1,099.99. The top-end Galaxy S26 Ultra is likely to begin at $1,299.99 and could offer configurations with up to 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM.

Pre-orders are now open with trade-in offers up to $900 credit. The phones will be available for sale from March 11, 2026.

Who Should Buy It?

The Galaxy S26 is suitable for users who prefer a compact phone with strong AI and camera performance. Then comes Galaxy S26+ which offers a balanced experience in size, battery, and performance. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is best for power users, content creators, and those who want the S Pen and the advanced Privacy Display feature.

Overall, while the hardware changes are gradual rather than dramatic, Samsung has focused on improving real-world usability and privacy. In a market full of foldables and experimental designs, the Galaxy S26 series aims to make smartphones smarter and more personal without making them complicated to use.
