The rich legacy of the Banaras Gharana and stellar performances by eminent artists captivated the audience, drawing a large gathering of music lovers

A musical evening titled “Shraddhanjali” was held at the prestigious Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, in memory of the late Pandit Rajan Mishra, an eminent Hindustani classical vocalist and Padma Bhushan awardee. The event unfolded in a dignified and emotionally resonant atmosphere.
Renowned artists from across the country paid a heartfelt musical tribute to the late maestro through their captivating performances. The evening beautifully reflected the rich tradition of the Banaras Gharana and the distinctive style associated with Pandit Rajan Mishra.
During the programme, Pandit Bhola Nath Mishra mesmerized the audience with his powerful and emotive vocal performance. Complementing the musical experience were the refined sitar recital by Adnan Khan, tabla accompaniment by Juheb Ahmed Khan and Jai Shankar Mishra, sarangi by Bharat Bhushan Goswami, and harmonium by Zakir Dholpuri. Each performance left a lasting impression on the audience.
The event was gracefully anchored by Radhika Mishra, while the overall coordination was managed by Ritbhavi Productions.
On this occasion, Pandit Ritesh Mishra, son of the late maestro, expressed gratitude to the artists and attendees. He stated that the evening was a humble effort to keep his father’s memories alive and emphasized that such initiatives would continue to inspire future generations to connect with the rich heritage of classical music.
The event was also graced by the presence of Padma Bhushan awardee Pandit Sajan Mishra, the younger brother of the late Pandit Rajan Mishra. He blessed the artists, further enhancing the dignity of the occasion.
The musical evening witnessed the participation of a large number of music enthusiasts, art connoisseurs, and distinguished guests, all of whom immersed themselves in the performances and paid homage to the legendary artist.
