ICMAI and DTU Forge Partnership to Strengthen Industry-Academia Collaboration

DTU and ICMAI Sign Landmark MoU, Enabling Students to Earn University Credits Through ICMAI Courses

New Delhi: The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) and Delhi Technological University (DTU) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in professional education, research, innovation, and technology-enabled cost management. This collaboration seeks to combine academic excellence with professional expertise, creating greater opportunities for students, researchers, and industry stakeholders.

The MoU was signed in the presence of CMA TCA Srinivasa Prasad, President, ICMAI; Prof. Prateek Sharma, Vice Chancellor, DTU; CMA Manoj Kumar Anand, Council Member, ICMAI; CMA (Dr.) Debaprosanna Nandy, Secretary (Officiating), ICMAI, along with senior representatives from both institutions.

The collaboration will introduce Industry Linked Credits under DTU’s academic framework, enabling training programmes and courses conducted by ICMAI to be integrated with the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC). Students will be able to accumulate these credits towards earning university degrees, creating greater flexibility between professional and academic learning.

The MoU also provides for internship opportunities for ICMAI final-stage trainees under the guidance of DTU faculty, focusing on research-based cost optimisation projects supported by expertise in technology, management, analytics and Artificial Intelligence. Both institutions will jointly undertake research projects for government organisations on cost optimisation, technology integration and AI-driven solutions, while also conducting specialised programmes on cost analytics, technology-enabled cost management and AI applications.

As part of the partnership, ICMAI and DTU will organise an annual international conference to promote research and exchange of global best practices in technology, digital transformation and cost analytics. The collaboration will further encourage hackathons, internships and innovation programmes to harness student talent for solving cost optimisation challenges across ministries, public sector organisations and businesses.

CMA Manoj Kumar Anand, Council Member, ICMAI, said the collaboration reflects the growing need to align professional education with emerging technologies and practical industry requirements.

He said, “This partnership brings together academic research and professional expertise to create meaningful learning opportunities for students. By integrating cost management with technology and Artificial Intelligence, we can help develop future-ready professionals while contributing practical solutions for industry and government.”
