Allied & Healthcare Admissions 2026–27: Students Urged to Check Professional Recognition Before Enrolment

Public notice urges students and parents to verify statutory recognition and regulatory approvals before enrolling in Allied & Healthcare courses.

New Delhi: Students and parents planning to pursue Allied & Healthcare courses in the 2026–27 academic session have been advised to verify the course’s regulatory approval, statutory recognition and professional eligibility before taking admission.

A public interest notice issued with reference to the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) Act, 2021, and related circulars has cautioned that academic validity of a degree does not automatically guarantee eligibility for statutory registration or professional practice.

The notice, issued by Dr. Rev. K.V.K. Rao, Founder and Chancellor of St. Mary’s Rehabilitation University, highlights three categories of Allied & Healthcare programmes that require careful verification before admission.

These include three-year Allied & Healthcare degree programmes, four-year courses offered by Deemed-to-be Universities without required regulatory approval, and professional programmes conducted outside the approved academic scope of a Private University.

According to the notice, NCAHP has prescribed four-year competency-based programmes for most Allied & Healthcare professions. Students considering three-year programmes have therefore been advised to confirm whether such qualifications meet the applicable requirements for professional registration and practice.

Students have also been urged to check whether the concerned institution has obtained prior approval from NCAHP or the relevant State Allied & Healthcare Council before launching a programme.

For courses offered by private universities, applicants should verify whether the specific programme falls within the university’s Letter of Intent, First Ordinances or any subsequent valid approval.

The notice advises students and parents not to rely solely on an institution’s reputation or general affiliation. They should obtain written confirmation about course duration, regulatory approvals and professional recognition before paying admission fees.

The advisory has been issued ahead of the 2026–27 admission cycle to promote greater awareness and help students make informed decisions when selecting Allied & Healthcare courses.
