Rain Cools Madhya Pradesh, More Showers Likely from May 7

Western Disturbance Triggers Widespread Rainfall; Temperature Drops by 3–4°C Across State, IMD Issues Alert for Storms and Hail

Madhya Pradesh:
The City has seen a drastic fall in temperatures after widespread rainfall in the last 24 hours, bringing much-needed relief to the scorching summer heat.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the ongoing showers are a result of an active Western Disturbance, and several regions across the state are expected to continue receiving rainfall through May 7.


The state capital Bhopal, along with nearly two dozen other districts, has reported both daytime and nighttime temperatures falling by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius. Cities such as Shahdol, Indore, Rewa, Chhatarpur, Morena, Ratlam, Chhindwara, Shivpuri, Dewas, Rajgarh, Seoni, Betul, Satna, Khargone, Bhind, Gwalior, Narmadapuram, Neemuch, Balaghat, Guna, Tikamgarh, Maihar, Vidisha, Mandsaur, and Anuppur are expected to experience continued rainfall.


The IMD has also warned of potential thunderstorms and hailstorms in districts including Gwalior, Guna, Morena, Vidisha, and Shivpuri. There is a possibility that gusty winds will accompany the weather systems, and the administration and local police are asked to stay on alert. People living along rivers have been cautioned to remain vigilant amid potential water-level increases.


With the rain providing a relief from the scorching heat, Madhya Pradesh residents are enjoying an unusual cool spell during May. The authorities remain on high alert and have advised the public to keep themselves updated with official weather forecasts.
