Nail-Biter in Chennai: Delhi Sharks Capture Tamil Nadu Open Bowling Crown

Rising stars like Kushal K S and Mehul Popli highlight the depth of India’s bowling talent

New Delhi: In a spectacular display of skill and nerve, the Delhi Sharks clinched the championship title at the prestigious Tamil Nadu Open Trios Tenpin Bowling Tournament 2025 held in Chennai.

In a closely fought final played in the Baker format over two games, the Delhi Sharks team—Dhruv Sarda, Palguna Reddy, and Sunil Sharma—defeated Strike Syndicate Chennai (comprising Soban D, Ganesh N.T., and Gurunathan) by just 12 pins (375–363) to secure the title.

The road to the final featured intense competition. In the semifinals, Strike Syndicate Chennai overcame Triple Threat Chennai 403–369, while Delhi Sharks edged past Chennai Thunder Strikerz 364–357 in another tight match.

Among the standout performers, Delhi Wolves impressed with a strong 7th-place finish. Kushal K S (875 pins) and Mehul Popli (758 pins) were the key contributors to their team’s performance. Kushal K S in particular emerged as a promising budding talent, displaying remarkable skill and consistency for his Delhi team throughout the tournament.

Incredibowls Mumbai narrowly missed a semifinal berth by a mere 8 pins, underlining the high level of competition witnessed this year.

The tournament featured 36 teams from across the country. Notably, 18 bowlers averaged over 200, and two—Anand Babu (929) and Dhruv Sarda (900)—achieved 900+ series, reflecting the growing excellence and depth in Indian tenpin bowling.

The 2025 edition of the Tamil Nadu Open Trios once again showcased the spirit of sportsmanship and the expanding talent pool in the Indian tenpin bowling circuit.
