New Delhi: India’s young squash sensation and World No. 1 junior player, Anahat Singh, visited the Teej Mela at Bikaner House in New Delhi on Tuesday. During her visit, she explored Rajasthan’s vibrant folk culture, traditional arts, handicrafts, attire and cuisine, while also interacting with exhibitors at different stalls.
Anahat met artists, artisans and participants and took keen interest in their work. She also honoured children who emerged winners in various competitions held during the fair.
Encouraging young visitors, Anahat urged them to balance academics with sports. She said participation in sports helps youngsters remain fit and disciplined while providing them with opportunities to make the country proud.
Principal Resident Commissioner Rohit Kumar said Anahat, the first Indian squash player to win the junior world championship, appreciated the diverse folk traditions and traditional art forms showcased at the event.
He said cultural celebrations such as the Teej Mela help introduce younger generations to India’s rich traditions. At the same time, they provide artists and artisans from Rajasthan with a platform to showcase their talent and heritage to audiences across India and abroad.

Aman Nath and Neeraman Hotels CEO Visit the Fair
The Teej Mela witnessed a strong turnout on Tuesday evening, with visitors enjoying folk performances and cheering participants in various competitions.
Aman Nath of the Neeraman Group and the CEO of Neeraman Hotels also visited the fair. They presented awards to artists and competition winners and wished them success in their future endeavours.
They said cultural events in the national capital provide an important platform to showcase Rajasthan’s rich heritage. Such initiatives also help promote the state’s folk arts, handicrafts and traditional culture while creating greater visibility and opportunities for local artists and artisans.
They further said that the Neeraman Group would continue supporting the Rajasthan government’s initiatives to promote the state’s art and cultural heritage.
