Kerala Police Serve BNSS Notices to Mylar Swami and B.V. Suresh as House Trespass Investigation Intensifies
New Delhi:The Sulthan Bathery Police in Kerala’s Wayanad district have summoned two Karnataka residents for questioning in connection with an alleged case of house trespass, criminal intimidation, and verbal abuse. Notices issued under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, direct both individuals to appear before the Investigating Officer at 10:00 AM on July 7, 2026, at the Sulthan Bathery Police Station.
The action follows the registration of FIR No. 0594/2026 on July 2, 2026, under Sections 329(3), 296(b), 351(3) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The FIR was registered on the complaint of Shymol Jose, a resident of Sulthan Bathery in Wayanad district, who alleged that the incident took place on June 20, 2026, at around 8:10 AM at her residence in Mavadikkunnu. Following her written complaint, the police initiated an investigation into the matter.
According to Shymol Jose’s complaint, Mylar Swami, B.V. Suresh and two other unidentified persons trespassed into her residence, attempted to force their way inside while asking about her son-in-law, and verbally abused members of the family. The complaint further alleges that the accused threatened to kill the entire family if the son-in-law was not brought out of the house, causing fear and panic among those present.
The FIR identifies two of the accused as Mylar Swami, a resident of Chitradurga, Karnataka, and B.V. Suresh, a resident of Bengaluru, Karnataka. During the course of the investigation, the police found sufficient grounds to question both individuals to ascertain facts and circumstances related to the case. Accordingly, separate appearance notices have been served on them directing their presence before the Investigating Officer on July 7.
The notices have been issued by Sub-Inspector Anandhu Thampi of Sulthan Bathery Police Station. Police said the appearance notices are part of the ongoing investigation and that further legal action will be taken based on the outcome of the questioning and the evidence collected during the probe.
