New Delhi: Indian cricket is set to celebrate one of its most remarkable years as the BCCI Naman Awards 2026 take place on March 15 in New Delhi. The event will honour players, teams, and legends who contributed to India’s extraordinary run of success across international tournaments.

This year’s ceremony is expected to be the biggest edition yet. The red carpet begins at 6:00 PM IST, followed by the main awards function at 7:00 PM IST, bringing together current stars, legendary cricketers, and young talents under one roof.

India’s Historic ICC Trophy

The biggest highlight of the evening will be the recognition of five ICC title-winning Indian teams in a single cycle — a rare achievement in world cricket.

The BCCI will felicitate the winners of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 at the ceremony.

In addition, the BCCI will honour India’s Under-19 boys’ and girls’ teams, who lifted their respective ICC trophies.

Players, coaches, and support staff from all these squads will be felicitated, highlighting India’s growing dominance across formats and age groups.

Shubman Gill Wins Top Men’s Award

India’s young captain Shubman Gill will receive the prestigious Polly Umrigar Award for Men’s Cricketer of the Year (2024-25).

This marks the second time Gill has won the honour, having previously received it in the 2022-23 season. Over the past year, he has impressed with consistent performances across formats while also taking on leadership responsibilities in Tests and ODIs.

Smriti Mandhana Honoured Again

Star batter Smriti Mandhana will be named Best International Cricketer – Women, marking the fifth time she has won the award.

Mandhana has been a key figure in India’s recent success, playing an important role in the team’s triumph at the Women’s ODI World Cup and continuing to be one of the most influential players in the women’s game.

Lifetime Achievement for Cricket Legends

One of the most emotional segments of the ceremony will be the presentation of the Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award to three iconic figures in Indian cricket.

Rahul Dravid will receive recognition for his immense contributions to Indian cricket. He excelled as a player and later guided India to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 title as head coach.

Former World Cup hero and current administrator Roger Binny will also receive the honour for his long-standing contribution to Indian cricket.

Mithali Raj stands as a pioneer of women’s cricket in India. Her remarkable career helped shape the modern women’s game in the country.

Young Talent in the Spotlight

Rising Mumbai cricketer Ayush Mhatre will receive the Lala Amarnath Award for Best All-Rounder in Domestic Limited-Overs competitions (2024-25).

In just seven matches, Mhatre delivered an impressive performance, scoring 458 runs at an average of 65.42 and a strike rate of 135.50, along with seven wickets, marking him as a promising talent for the future.

Other Recognitions

Harsh Dubey from Vidarbha will also receive recognition for his performances in the Ranji Trophy. The Mumbai Cricket Association will also be honoured for its contribution to India’s strong domestic cricket structure.

The word “Naman” means salute in Hindi. The awards reflect that spirit. They honour the players, coaches, and administrators who shaped one of the most successful phases in Indian cricket history.

With the Indian Premier League season approaching, the ceremony will set the tone for the upcoming cricket calendar. It is expected to mark the start of another exciting chapter in the sport.

The full list of winners and highlights from the ceremony will be released after the event.
