Legal Affairs Department Champions Blood Donation Drive Ahead of World Blood Donor Day
Department’s blood donation initiative highlights social responsibility ahead of World Blood Donor Day

17 June 2025, New Delhi
In a commendable step beyond its legal mandate, the Department of Legal Affairs under the Ministry of Law and Justice organized a blood donation camp at Shastri Bhawan today. Held in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, the initiative was part of the lead-up to World Blood Donor Day, observed globally on June 14.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from senior officials, staff members, and a notable number of women employees. Law Secretary Dr. Anju Rathi Rana, who graced the occasion, emphasized that blood donation is not merely an act of kindness but a vital social responsibility.

Aligning with this year’s global theme — “Give Blood, Give Hope: Together We Save Lives” — the camp served as a powerful reminder of the impact of voluntary and regular blood donation in fortifying the nation’s healthcare system.

By conducting this drive, the Department of Legal Affairs set a strong example of how government institutions, even those rooted in legal and administrative work, can actively support and promote life-saving social causes.
