Global Peace Initiative Founder Offers Condolences to Victims’ Families; Urges Comprehensive and Transparent Investigation into Air India AI-171 Crash Tragedy

In the aftermath of the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI-171, renowned peace activist and Global Peace Initiative founder Dr. K.A. Paul has extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the 242 victims and demanded a thorough, multi-dimensional investigation into the possibility of terrorism behind the disaster.
The London-bound Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner took off from Ahmedabad and crashed within minutes into a densely populated residential area of Meghani Nagar, killing all passengers and crew members on board. The fatalities include 169 Indian nationals, 53 British citizens, seven Portuguese nationals, one Canadian, and the entire flight crew.
Terming the incident as a “global tragedy,” Dr. Paul expressed grave concern over potential security lapses and warned against dismissing the crash as a routine mechanical failure. Drawing from his four decades of international travel and aviation experience, he urged authorities to examine all possible scenarios, including baggage tampering and remote-triggered explosives.
“This is not just an accident—it could be a calculated act of terror. The magnitude of this disaster warrants a detailed probe from political, legal, and technical perspectives,” Dr. Paul stated.

He emphasized that failing to address critical red flags could severely damage India’s aviation reputation and have far-reaching implications on tourism, international relations, and investor confidence. Dr. Paul called for a swift and transparent investigation to deliver justice to the victims’ families and to restore global trust in India’s air safety standards.
Appealing for unity, Dr. Paul urged citizens and institutions to stand together in grief and resilience. He concluded by saying, “Tragedies like this should not divide us. They must inspire collective action in pursuit of truth, justice, and public safety.”
Authorities have yet to confirm the cause of the crash, while black box data recovery and forensic examinations are currently underway.
