New Delhi, 6 December 2025

The Chavara Cultural Centre hosted the fifth edition of Kristu Mahotsav 2025, an annual celebration dedicated to promoting interfaith dialogue, cultural diversity, and inclusive values. Over the years, the festival has become a prominent social and cultural gathering in Delhi, welcoming a wide spectrum of participants—from diplomats and faith leaders to artists, educators, and families.

This year’s event was graced by West Bengal Governor Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose, Archbishop Anil Joseph Thomas Couto, Bishop Stephen Fernandes, and the ambassadors of Portugal, Malta, Timor-Leste, Peru, and Guatemala.

“A Movement of Compassion”: Chavara Cultural Centre Sets the Tone

In his welcome address, Rev. Dr. Fr. Roby Kannanchira CMI, Director of the Chavara Cultural Centre, emphasized the heart of the festival: compassion and belonging.
He noted, “Kristu Mahotsav is more than an event—it is a movement where every child, especially the underprivileged and specially-abled, is embraced as part of the family. Christmas reminds us to build a Bethlehem around us, where no child is overlooked and every person receives dignity and love.”
