His resignation, submitted on Monday, July 21, 2025, comes in accordance with Article 67(a) of the Indian Constitution, marking a significant moment in the nation’s political landscape.
In a dignified and deeply reflective letter addressed to the Hon’ble President of India, Dhankhar stated,
“To prioritise health care and abide by medical advice, I hereby resign as the Vice President of India, effective immediately.”
