The excitement surrounding Prabhas and Deepika Padukone’s collaboration on “Kalki 2898 AD” has been building. And fans are eager to see them on the big screen as May 9th, the original release date approaches.
The wait to see the science fiction action thriller movie, though, may go longer according to a number of rumors. There have been rumors circulating recently about a possible postponement of “Kalki 2898 AD,” with some blaming the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh elections as one of the causes. The release date had to be delayed because, reportedly, the creators still need to make a few minor adjustments.
Some rumors suggest that the film can be released on May 30th, despite the makers’ ongoing negotiations and lack of clarity. There hasn’t been an official confirmation yet, though.
This Telugu-Hindi movie unites Bollywood and South Cinema and features an incredibly skilled collective cast. In addition to Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani have major parts in the movie, while Kamal Haasan makes a cameo appearance.
The science-fiction film will be released in theaters across India and was produced on a budget of Rs 600 crore. Additionally, Netflix paid an astounding Rs 175 crore to get the film’s digital rights in Hindi.
