New Delhi: Dr Bhargav Mallappa met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and presented him with a copy of his latest book, The Modi Era: India’s Journey of Transformation.
The book explores India’s digital transformation since Narendra Modi became Prime Minister. During the meeting, Mallappa discussed the growing role of technology in governance, financial services and the daily lives of citizens.
The discussion covered key digital initiatives, including Aadhaar, Jan Dhan accounts, mobile connectivity, Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT). Mallappa highlighted how these systems have changed the delivery of government services and financial benefits.
He also discussed challenges linked to India’s digital transition. These include cybersecurity, data privacy, digital literacy and access to technology among different sections of society.
Rajnath Singh acknowledged Mallappa’s work and its focus on documenting changes in governance and public life during the digital transformation of India.
The Modi Era: India’s Journey of Transformation examines the changing relationship between citizens, businesses and the government through technology. The book also looks at emerging opportunities and challenges as India continues to pursue its long-term development goals.
Mallappa said the book aims to document India’s transformation through the experiences of ordinary citizens. He said the book also examines the growing importance of technology in India’s development.
