Hyderabad: The third edition of the Pink Power Run brought together around 35,000 participants at HMDA Grounds near Prasads IMAX in Hyderabad on Sunday. Organised by Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd. (MEIL) and the Sudha Reddy Foundation, the event focused on breast cancer awareness, early detection, preventive healthcare and women’s empowerment.
The run featured four categories — the 21K Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and 3K — and attracted participants from different age groups and backgrounds. Children, senior citizens, neurodivergent participants and persons with disabilities also took part in the event.
International runners join Hyderabad marathon
Elite athletes from more than 12 countries, including the USA, UK, UAE, Ethiopia, Kenya and Canada, participated in the 21K Half Marathon.
Telangana Minister Danasari Anasuya, popularly known as Seethakka, DGP C.V. Anand, MEIL Managing Director P.V. Krishna Reddy, Sudha Reddy and U.S. Consul General Laura Williams were among those present at the event.

Celebrities and public figures participate
The Pink Power Run also saw participation from former Miss World Thailand Opal Suchata Chuangsri, boxer Vijender Singh, actor Siddu Jonnalagadda and music composer S. Thaman.
U.S. Consul General Laura Williams took part in the 10K run, while Sudha Reddy, P.V. Krishna Reddy and Opal Suchata participated in the 5K and 10K categories.
Another notable participant was 47-year-old Ramabai Ranveer from Maharashtra, who had earlier attracted attention for running barefoot to support her children’s education.
Winners announced across race categories
Suneel Kumar won the men’s 21K Half Marathon, while Sonam claimed the women’s title.
In the 10K category, Harish Shareen won the men’s race and Vandana Patel topped the women’s category. Luv Choudhary and Anjali emerged winners in the men’s and women’s 5K races, respectively.
The organisers awarded cash prizes worth Rs. 75 lakh in total, along with medals and trophies, to the leading finishers across the categories.

Organisers highlight preventive healthcare
MEIL Managing Director P.V. Krishna Reddy said regular physical activity plays an important role in maintaining health and reducing the risk of lifestyle-related diseases.
Sudha Reddy, Founder of the Sudha Reddy Foundation, said the event seeks to encourage families and communities to focus on fitness and health awareness. She also described every participant as a “celebrity” for supporting the cause.
Minister Danasari Anasuya said the run could help increase awareness about health and encourage people to pay greater attention to preventive care.
The organisers said the turnout at Pink Power Run 3.0 highlights growing public attention towards preventive healthcare, early medical intervention and breast cancer screening. The initiative aims to use community participation and fitness activities to strengthen awareness around women’s health.
