Global leaders converge at Bharat Mandapam as MERI contributes to key EV discussions and a landmark Indo-Italian MoU drives international cooperation in electric mobility

The International Federation of Electric Vehicle Associations (IFEVA) hosted a three-day International Conference and Exhibition on electric mobility at Bharat Mandapam from April 17 to 19, bringing together global industry leaders, policymakers, startups, and academic experts on a single platform.
The summit witnessed participation from delegates across Italy, the United States, Germany, Japan, and South Korea. Notably, the presence of 10–15 Italian companies underscored the growing momentum of international collaboration in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle (EV) sector.
Prominent dignitaries at the event included Hanif Quraishi from the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Saurabh Dalela of the International Centre for Automotive Technology, IFEVA Founder Dr. Shailendra Saroj, Global Vice President Srinivas Kumar Yerapattu, and President Dr. Rajeev Mishra.
Over the course of three days, the conference explored critical themes shaping the future of electric mobility, including EV charging infrastructure, advancements in battery technology, and innovation.
Deliberations also extended to financing, startup ecosystems, educational frameworks, and strengthening government-industry partnerships.
A key highlight of the summit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IFEVA and the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce. The agreement aims to deepen India–Italy cooperation in the EV space and foster joint initiatives. The Chamber also extended an invitation to IFEVA for upcoming collaborative engagements in Italy.
Delhi-based MERI Group of Institutions marked a strong presence at the summit. Represented by Prof. Dr. Tapash Dey, MERI provided academic support and played a meaningful role in the successful execution of the event.
