On the occasion of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s first birthday since assuming office, the city’s para athletes and sports community expressed their warm wishes and shared their enthusiasm for the future of para sports in the national capital.
Parul Singh, President of the Delhi State Para Olympic Committee, extended heartfelt greetings to the Chief Minister on behalf of the para athlete community, wishing her a long and successful tenure.
“Under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s leadership, Delhi is moving toward inclusive development,” said Parul Singh. “For the first time, the capital is set to host para sports events — a historic step that will offer both recognition and opportunities to differently-abled athletes.”
A para athlete, reflecting on the occasion, said, “For the first time, we feel that our efforts are being acknowledged at the highest level. The Chief Minister’s vision is truly inspiring for us.”
The athletes and their organizations expressed hope that Rekha Gupta’s tenure will usher in new schemes, improved resources, and greater opportunities for self-reliance for the differently-abled community.
