Contribution of Music Maestro Pt. Hira Lal Chaturvedi Remains Unforgettable

Eminent music maestro and founder of Chaturvedi Sangeet Vidyalaya, Late Pandit Hira Lal Chaturvedi, was remembered with deep respect on his 49th death anniversary by noted personalities from the fields of music, literature, and culture. Speakers at the tribute event said that Pt. Chaturvedi devoted his entire life to preserving and promoting Indian classical music and cultural values.
Pt. Hira Lal Chaturvedi founded Chaturvedi Sangeet Vidyalaya in 1914 in the Nai Sarak area of Old Delhi. Through years of dedication and hard work, he trained thousands of students in Indian classical music and helped carry forward the country’s rich musical heritage to future generations. He was affectionately known as “Guruji” among his disciples and followers.
Padma Bhushan awardee and renowned classical vocalist Pt. Sajan Mishra said that Pt. Hira Lal Chaturvedi was not just a musician but a true devotee of Indian culture. He added that he used music as a medium of spirituality, service, and values, and that his disciples continue to spread the dignity of Indian classical music across the world.

Former Member of Parliament Jai Prakash Aggarwal said that Pt.Hira Lal Chaturvedi ji worked tirelessly to make music education accessible to people from all sections of society. He noted that Pt. Chaturvedi selflessly trained countless students and made an unforgettable contribution to India’s cultural heritage.
Noted musician Pt. Uma Shankar Chaturvedi, the eldest son said that his father believed music was the language of the soul. He added that Guruji’s discipline, teachings, and dedication continue to inspire both his family and disciples even today.
Editor of Rashtra Times, Vijay Shankar Chaturvedi, said that Guruji’s life reflected struggle, devotion, and strong cultural values. He added that Pt. Hira Lal Chaturvedi always encouraged younger generations to stay connected with Indian music and traditions.
Renowned tabla player Sharif Bharti said that personalities like Pt. Hira Lal Chaturvedi continue to inspire society through their dedication and lifelong commitment to music.
Music lovers and disciples present at the event became emotional while remembering Guruji and said that although he is no longer physically present, his teachings, melodies, and values will continue to live on forever.
