17 May 2025, New Delhi

Commemorating Samrasta Divas, a day honoring the legacy of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Prof. (Dr.) Ramakant Dwivedi, Head of the MERI Centre for International Studies (CIS), delivered a compelling keynote address at the Delhi High Court.

The event was graced by the presence of Justice Jasmeet Singh of the Delhi High Court, alongside numerous legal luminaries and dignitaries.

In his address, Prof. Dwivedi passionately underscored the foundational values of the Indian Constitution and asserted the need for their unwavering protection. He cautioned that any attempt to erode constitutional integrity would face a firm and resolute national response.

Referring to the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, on April 22, 2025—executed by Pakistan-backed militants—Prof. Dwivedi highlighted India’s strategic military response on May 7, 2025. He revealed that nine major terrorist camps were successfully neutralized across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK).

Key targets included:

  • Lashkar-e-Taiba’s camps at Sawai Nala, Gulpur, Abbas, and Barnala
  • Jaish-e-Mohammed’s Syedna Bilal training camp
  • Major operational centers like LeT’s Markaz Taiba (Muridke) and JeM’s Markaz Subhanallah (Bahawalpur)
  • Additional locations in Sarjal and Mehmoona Joya, Sialkot

Justice Jasmeet Singh lauded the Indian Constitution, calling it a beacon of foresight and wisdom. “Every reading brings new insight,” he noted, urging citizens to shoulder the collective responsibility of preserving its sanctity.
