Nitin Naveen Engages with Journalists in New Delhi, Honoured with Traditional Mithila Paag

The BJP National Executive President held an interactive meeting with journalists to discuss media responsibility and democratic dialogue, and was felicitated with Mithila’s traditional Paag.

An interactive meeting between journalists and Nitin Naveen, National Executive President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, was held in New Delhi on Tuesday, highlighting the importance of continuous dialogue between the media and political leadership on issues of national and public interest.

The interaction focused on the evolving role of journalism in a democratic society, with journalists emphasising the need for independent, responsible, and fact-driven reporting. Discussions also touched upon transparency in information flow, public accountability, and the media’s social responsibility in shaping informed public discourse.

Journalists present at the meeting shared their perspectives on challenges faced by the media and underlined the importance of constructive engagement between elected representatives and the press to strengthen democratic institutions.

Following the interaction, senior journalist Rakesh Singh felicitated Nitin Naveen by presenting him with the traditional Mithila headgear, the Paag. The honour symbolised Mithila’s rich cultural heritage and its long-standing tradition of respect, dignity, and hospitality.

Bihar Legislative Council Member and BJP National Media Co-Incharge Sanjay Mayukh was also present at the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Rakesh Singh said that regular interaction between journalists and public representatives plays a vital role in reinforcing democratic values. He noted that honouring guests with the Mithila Paag reflects the region’s cultural ethos and its deep-rooted tradition of respect.

Organisers stated that the objective of the meeting was to promote meaningful dialogue between the media and political leadership and to encourage thoughtful discussions on matters concerning public interest and democratic governance.
