Swiggy Instamart 2025 Report: Health & Wellness Orders Surge 16x in Bhopal, Bengaluru Leads Late-Night Cravings

From luxury iPhones and gold to daily essentials, Swiggy Instamart 2025 report reveals India’s city-wise shopping habits, gifting spikes, and record-fast deliveries.

New Delhi: Swiggy Instamart has released its annual report titled “How India Instamarted 2025”, based on millions of orders placed between January and November across more than 128 Indian cities. The report shows how quick commerce has grown far beyond last-minute grocery needs and is now used for everything—from luxury gadgets and gold coins to daily essentials and unusual purchases.

With an average delivery time of just 10 minutes, Instamart has become a one-stop platform for electronics, wellness products, festive gifts, and everyday items. The report highlights spending patterns, city-wise trends, and interesting facts that reflect how diverse India’s shopping habits have become.

Top Shopper Spends Over ₹22 Lakh in One Year

The most eye-catching story is of the year’s biggest spender, who spent over ₹22 lakh on Instamart through repeat orders. Their purchases included 22 iPhone 17 units, 24-karat gold coins, a Philips air fryer, along with simple items like Tic Tac mints, milk, eggs, ice cream, and fresh fruits. This unusual mix shows how customers use Instamart for both luxury items and daily needs in the same app.

Big-Ticket Orders Across Cities

Several high-value single orders stood out:

• In Hyderabad, the biggest single order worth ₹4.3 lakh included three iPhone 17 devices.
• A Noida customer spent ₹2.69 lakh in one order on Bluetooth speakers, SSD storage devices, and robotic vacuum cleaners.
• During Diwali, a Bengaluru shopper bought a 1-kg silver brick worth ₹1.97 lakh.

Gold purchases saw a huge jump, with over 400% growth on Dhanteras compared to last year. Overall, customers bought ₹15.16 lakh worth of gold, with Mumbai leading in gold coin purchases.

At the other end of the scale, the smallest order was a ₹10 printout service in Bengaluru, proving Instamart handles both tiny and massive orders with ease.

City-Wise Shopping Habits and Fun Records

Bengaluru emerged as the capital of late-night snacking, placing the highest number of orders after dark. The city also showed a strong love for Korean food, with gochujang sauce orders rising 491%, and noodles making up 9 out of every 10 Korean product orders.

  • One Bengaluru user spent ₹4.36 lakh only on noodles, while another placed a quirky order combining a ₹1.7 lakh iPhone with a ₹178 lime soda.
  • In Mumbai, energy drinks ruled—one customer spent ₹16.3 lakh on Red Bull Sugar Free alone.
  • Hyderabad saw romance peak, with one user spending ₹31,240 on roses.
  • In Chennai, a pet lover spent ₹2.41 lakh on pet supplies, while another customer placed 228 orders for condoms, spending over ₹1 lakh.
  • A fitness enthusiast in Noida ordered 1,343 protein products, spending nearly ₹2.8 lakh.
  • In Kochi, one customer placed 368 orders for curry leaves, highlighting regional cooking habits.

Big Hearts, Bigger Tips

Bengaluru also became India’s top tipping city. One customer tipped delivery partners ₹68,600 over the year.
Chennai followed closely, with a single user tipping ₹59,500, showing strong appreciation for fast deliveries.

Daily Essentials and Ordering Trends

  • Milk was the most ordered item, with over four packets ordered every second. If combined, the total milk ordered could fill 26,000 Olympic-size swimming pools.
  • Paneer was more popular than cheese and butter for breakfast, with 10 cheese orders for every nine butter orders.
  • Masala potato chips dominated late-night cravings in 9 out of 10 major cities.
  • Peak order times were 7 am to 11 am and 4 pm to 7 pm, showing Instamart’s role in daily routines.
  • Personal care items like condoms appeared in one out of every 127 orders, with a 24% rise in September.
  • Beverage choices leaned traditional, with Indians ordering 1.3 cups of chai for every cup of coffee in top cities.

Gifting Surges on Special Occasions

Gifting saw massive spikes on key days:

• On Valentine’s Day, 666 roses were ordered every minute across India.
• Bengaluru alone recorded 1,780 orders per minute for roses and chocolates.
• Surprisingly, Mondays became the most popular day for gifting.
• Strong gifting activity was also seen on Raksha Bandhan and Friendship Day.

On Mother’s Day, body-care gifts peaked at 12:05 PM, while Father’s Day grooming products saw the highest demand at 7:36 PM.

Super-Fast Deliveries Steal the Show

Speed remained a key highlight. In Lucknow, instant noodles were delivered in under two minutes.

During the iPhone 17 launch, phones reached customers in less than three minutes in Pune and Ahmedabad.

Growth in Smaller Cities and Wellness Demand

Health and wellness orders grew 16 times in Bhopal, with strong growth also seen in Varanasi, Ludhiana, and Warangal.
Tier-II cities showed rapid adoption—Rajkot grew 10 times, Ludhiana seven times, and Bhubaneswar four times year-on-year.
During the Quick India Movement sale, first-time buyers together saved ₹500 crore.

Strange but Interesting Searches


Users searched for some unexpected items, including “Swiggy” (7,000 times), “drones” (1,453 times), “petrol” (1,069 times), and even “Airbus” (938 times)—perhaps dreaming of even faster deliveries.

As 2025 comes to an end, Swiggy Instamart’s report clearly shows how Indians are embracing quick commerce for speed, convenience, and variety. From luxury splurges to everyday essentials, Instamart is changing the way India shops—one ultra-fast delivery at a time.
