‘Aap Jaisa Koi’ on Netflix brings a heartfelt love story of opposites attracting, exploring vulnerability, equality, and emotional connection in today’s world

R. Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh are set to charm audiences in Netflix’s upcoming romantic drama ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’, premiering on July 11. Directed by Vivek Soni, the film offers a refreshing and emotionally rich portrayal of love that blossoms between two contrasting personalities, bound together by an unexpected connection, deep respect, and heartfelt emotions.
In this modern-day love story, Madhavan plays Shrirenu, a calm, traditional Sanskrit teacher, while Fatima essays the role of Madhu, a vibrant and independent French teacher. Their personalities may be worlds apart, but the film beautifully unfolds their journey from strangers to soulmates, navigating through insecurities, personal growth, and emotional vulnerability.
Director Vivek Soni, known for Meenakshi Sundareshwar, calls the film “a story about breaking down the emotional walls we build around ourselves.” He adds that “Aap Jaisa Koi” is not just about romance – it’s about acceptance, understanding, and the courage to love openly despite our fears.
Backed by Dharmatic Entertainment, the film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra. Known for delivering emotionally resonant and progressive stories, the production house continues its tradition with this contemporary love saga.
