In a chilling turn of events, a young man identified as Golu alias Aman Shriwas (22), was brutally murdered by his two close friends during a late-night outing in Jabalpur. The two accused not only killed him using stones and wooden planks but also later joined his family in pretending to search for him to avoid raising suspicion. The incident has left the local community in shock and sparked outrage.
According to CSP B.S. Gathoria, the incident took place on the night of May 8. Golu, a resident of Sheetla Mai area under Ghamapur police limits, went out with his two friends—Shubham Tiwari (24) of Sarkari Kuan and Sahil Denian (22) of Ghamapur. When Golu didn’t return home, his family reached out to the two friends, who claimed that Golu had left for home after their outing.
Feigning concern, the duo even assisted the victim’s family in searching for Golu and later went to the police station with them to file a missing person report. However, inconsistencies in their statements raised suspicions. Upon sustained interrogation, both confessed to the murder.
Police said the trio had reached the Vehicle Mode area on the outskirts of the city when a heated argument broke out. In a fit of rage, Shubham and Sahil attacked Golu with stones and a wooden plank, killing him on the spot. They then dragged the body into nearby bushes and fled. The incident took place under Ranjhi police station jurisdiction.
Following their confession, the police recovered Golu’s body and sent it for post-mortem. Both accused have been arrested and a case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered.
