Pensioners to Stage Nationwide Protest at EPFO HQ on October 13, Demand ₹7,500 Minimum Pension

Pensioners accuse the government of ignoring their long-pending demand for ₹7,500 minimum pension and full DA.

New Delhi: The EPS-95 National Agitation Committee (NAC) has announced that pensioners from across India will stage a mass protest on October 13 outside the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) headquarters on East Kidwai Road, New Delhi, expressing strong dissatisfaction with government policies.

According to the committee, the long-pending demand to increase the minimum pension to ₹7,500 per month remains unaddressed. Pensioners are also demanding full payment of Dearness Allowance (DA), higher pension as per the Supreme Court’s ruling, and adequate medical facilities. The committee alleged that despite repeated demonstrations across the country for over a month outside EPFO and District Magistrate offices, the government has not responded, leading to growing resentment among pensioners.

National President Commander Ashok Raut said, “By changing the meeting venue, the government is trying to avoid the pensioners’ anger, but we will not step back. The agitation will continue until the minimum pension of ₹7,500, full DA payment, pension revision as per the Supreme Court’s decision, and medical facilities are implemented.”

He added that a large number of pensioners from Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh will gather in the national capital to demand answers from the Labour Minister and CBT members regarding their pending issues.

The committee has also warned that if their demands are not met by Diwali, the agitation will be intensified on a larger scale.

Senior office-bearers who finalized the protest strategy include National President Commander Ashok Raut, General Secretary Virendra Singh Rajawar, National Secretary and Media In-charge Rajeev Bhatnagar, Delhi State President Bacche Singh Rana, National Secretary Ramesh Bahuguna, North India Coordinator Suresh Dangwal, and National Coordinator Ramakant Nargund.
