Shah Rukh Khan Remains India’s Richest Actor, Salman Khan Makes Debut: Hurun Rich List

Shah Rukh Khan tops the Hurun 2026 actor rich list with ₹10,000 crore despite a 20% drop, while Amitabh Bachchan rises and Salman Khan debuts

New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan has retained his position as India’s richest actor on the M3M Hurun India Rich List 2026, with an estimated wealth of ₹10,000 crore. His fortune, however, has fallen by ₹2,490 crore from the ₹12,490 crore estimate in last year’s list, marking a drop of roughly 20%. Amitabh Bachchan has made a sharp jump to second place, while Salman Khan has entered the actor rankings for the first time. Hrithik Roshan has also increased his estimated wealth as his business interests continue to expand.

Shah Rukh Khan remains India’s richest actor

Shah Rukh Khan continues to lead the actor rankings despite the sizeable fall in his estimated wealth. Hurun has valued his fortune at ₹10,000 crore in its 2026 India list, compared with ₹12,490 crore in 2025.

The ₹2,490 crore difference works out to about 20%. Even after that decline, SRK remains far ahead of the other actors on this year’s list. Amitabh Bachchan stands at ₹4,000 crore, Salman Khan at ₹3,000 crore and Hrithik Roshan at ₹2,500 crore.

The gap becomes clearer when the next three fortunes are added together. Bachchan, Salman and Hrithik have a combined estimated wealth of ₹9,500 crore — still ₹500 crore less than Shah Rukh Khan’s individual estimate.

Hurun’s numbers are estimates rather than independently audited valuations. Celebrity wealth can also change between reports because private businesses, investments and other assets can receive different valuations. Earlier in 2026, the Hurun Global Rich List valued SRK at ₹10,800 crore, showing the variation between different editions.

Where his wealth actually comes from

Shah Rukh Khan’s fortune extends well beyond his acting fees. His business interests include Red Chillies Entertainment, the production and VFX company he runs with Gauri Khan, and Knight Riders Sports, which owns the Kolkata Knight Riders IPL franchise and other cricket teams.

His film career and endorsement deals also contribute to his wealth. The actor has not had a theatrical release since 2023, when Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki arrived in cinemas.

His next major release is King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film is scheduled to reach theatres on December 24, 2026.

Amitabh Bachchan’s big jump to second place

Amitabh Bachchan has recorded one of the biggest changes among the leading actors. Hurun has estimated his wealth at ₹4,000 crore this year, up sharply from ₹1,630 crore in 2025.

The increase has pushed Bachchan from fifth place among the actors in last year’s ranking to second this year. His decades-long acting career remains an important part of his financial profile, while the latest estimate also reflects the growth of investments managed through his family office and his private real estate holdings.

The change is particularly notable because Bachchan’s 2025 estimate was far below the fortunes attributed to SRK and Juhi Chawla. The latest assessment gives him a much larger share of the wealth among the actors tracked by Hurun.

Salman Khan makes his debut on the list

Salman Khan has entered Hurun’s actor rankings for the first time at No. 3, with an estimated wealth of ₹3,000 crore.

His financial interests extend across films, production, brands and endorsements. Salman Khan Films forms part of his business portfolio, while the Being Human foundation and lifestyle brand have also been closely associated with his commercial profile.

His direct entry at ₹3,000 crore puts him ahead of several established names from previous editions and makes him one of the four actors highlighted in the 2026 ranking.

Hrithik Roshan climbs on the back of HRX

Hrithik Roshan has moved up with an estimated wealth of ₹2,500 crore, compared with ₹2,160 crore in the 2025 list.

A major part of that growth comes from HRX, the fitness and lifestyle brand he co-founded. The business has expanded beyond its original fitness and apparel focus into wider consumer categories, increasing its role in Roshan’s overall wealth profile.

Roshan now sits fourth among the actors covered by the 2026 list.

Two familiar names disappear from this year’s list

Two names that featured prominently in the 2025 actor rankings do not appear in the 2026 list.

Juhi Chawla, who Hurun valued at ₹7,790 crore last year, is absent this time. Karan Johar, whose reported wealth stood at ₹1,880 crore in 2025, is also missing from the latest rankings.

Their absence should not automatically be read as a loss of wealth. Hurun’s rankings depend on the information and valuations available for each person in a particular edition. A person dropping off one edition does not, by itself, establish that their actual wealth fell by a specific amount.

How actors compare to India’s biggest fortunes overall

The wealth of India’s top actors still sits well below the country’s biggest business fortunes. Gautam Adani and family lead the overall M3M Hurun India Rich List 2026 with ₹9.23 lakh crore, overtaking Mukesh Ambani and family at ₹8.64 lakh crore. LN Mittal and family rank third overall with ₹3.40 lakh crore.

The wider Hurun list covers entrepreneurs and business families across sectors, so its entertainment-related rankings also include people beyond actors. The actor figures therefore represent only one part of a much larger wealth map.

What the Hurun list actually is

The M3M Hurun India Rich List is a wealth ranking, not an audited financial statement. The 2026 edition tracks 1,810 individuals with wealth of at least ₹1,000 crore and uses a snapshot date of August 24, 2026. Hurun calculates values for unlisted companies using recent funding rounds or comparisons with listed peers and industry valuation multiples.

That methodology matters when reading celebrity numbers. Private companies, investments, property and other assets do not always have a single publicly traded price, so estimates can shift from one Hurun report to another.

Hurun India was established in 2012 by Anas Rahman Junaid, while the Hurun Report began in London in 1999 as a research and luxury-publishing organisation. Its India lists now cover wealth, entrepreneurship, business and other areas of the economy.

Shah Rukh Khan’s ₹10,000 crore estimate keeps him comfortably ahead of the other actors despite the year-on-year fall. The 2026 list also shows how quickly the order can change when Hurun reassesses private businesses, investments and other assets.
