There’s exciting news for fans of the suspense-packed Drishyam franchise — not one, but two versions of Drishyam 3 are set to go on floors simultaneously. Both the Hindi and Malayalam versions will be shot together, with Ajay Devgn and Mohanlal reprising their legendary roles of Vijay Salgaonkar and Georgekutty, respectively. The announcement has generated a wave of excitement across fans and film circles.

Mohanlal’s ‘Drishyam 3’ to Begin Shooting in October

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has officially confirmed that the shooting of Drishyam 3 will begin in October 2025. The actor took to social media platform X to share a teaser video, in which he is seen once again as the calm yet complex Georgekutty. The video also features director Jeethu Joseph and producer Antony Perumbavoor.

This announcement sent fans into a frenzy, with social media abuzz about the return of one of Indian cinema’s most gripping thrillers.

Ajay Devgn’s Hindi Version to Follow Parallel Timeline

The Hindi version will begin filming around the same time. Actor Ajay Devgn will reprise his acclaimed role as Vijay Salgaonkar, with shooting scheduled to commence on October 2, 2025, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti. The date holds symbolic significance, as the franchise’s core themes revolve around truth, justice, and moral dilemmas.

According to industry sources, Ajay Devgn has finalized his dates for the project, which is slated for a Gandhi Jayanti 2026 release.

First-Ever Simultaneous Shoot for Drishyam Franchise

This will mark the first time that the Malayalam and Hindi versions of Drishyam 3 will be shot in parallel. While the core storylines are expected to remain aligned, the Hindi version may feature new plot twists and creative changes to better suit its audience.

A production source revealed: “It will be a three-month-long marathon shoot, taking place across real locations and studio sets in Maharashtra.”

The source added that it is yet to be decided whether the Hindi script will follow the Malayalam version verbatim or undergo creative modifications. A final call on this will be taken by July 2025.

With the past two films of the franchise receiving both critical and commercial acclaim, Drishyam 3 is expected to raise the bar even higher — and possibly set new records at the box office.
