In a major announcement that has thrilled Bollywood and Disney fans across India, actress Shraddha Kapoor has officially joined the highly anticipated animated film, Zootopia 2, as the Hindi voice of the beloved bunny cop, Judy Hopps . This marks the popular star’s first foray into lending her voice to a Disney animated feature, adding a distinct Indian touch to the globally successful franchise.
The Perfect Fit: Judy Hopps Gets a ‘Cute’ and ‘Feisty’ Indian Voice
Walt Disney Studios India made the official announcement on November 7, 2025, sharing an adorable poster featuring Shraddha Kapoor alongside the energetic Judy Hopps. The choice has been celebrated by the makers, who believe Shraddha’s natural charm, enthusiasm, and warmth perfectly align with Judy’s spirited personality.
Sharing her excitement, Shraddha wrote on social media, “Super thrilled to be joining the #Zootopia2 family as the Hindi voice of the incredible Judy Hopps! She’s fearless, full of energy, and of course, cute since forever — just like my childhood favourite!”
The actress noted that she deeply identifies with the character, saying Judy “has her head firmly on her shoulders” and is “authoritative when she has to be, and soft when the moment calls for it.” Her background in mimicry and her ability to modulate her voice for different emotions—whether angry, silly, or excited—is expected to bring a fresh and engaging dimension to Judy Hopps for the Hindi-speaking audience.
What to Expect from the Hindi Version
Zootopia 2, the sequel to the Oscar-winning 2016 hit, will see the return of the iconic duo: determined Police Officer Judy Hopps and her sly fox partner, Nick Wilde. The new film continues their adventures in the bustling metropolis of Zootopia, with the trailer hinting at a case involving a mysterious snake suspect and an evolving, possibly romantic, relationship between the mismatched partners.
The sequel, directed by Jared Bush and Bryon Howard, is slated to hit Indian theatres on November 28, 2025, and will be released in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Shraddha Kapoor’s inclusion in the Hindi voice cast is a strategic move by Disney to enhance the film’s appeal and accessibility to families and children across the country, following the trend of localizing major global animated films.
Shraddha’s Busy Slate
While her voice is set to charm audiences in Zootopia 2, Shraddha Kapoor remains busy with a packed schedule of live-action films. She is set to return in the third installment of the successful horror-comedy franchise, Stree 3 (scheduled for an August 2027 release), and will also star in the fantasy trilogy Naagin. Furthermore, she has begun preparation for a biopic on the legendary Marathi folk performer Vithabai Narayangaonkar, titled Eetha, for which she has started training in the traditional Maharashtrian dance form, Lavani.
