MERI Students Showcase Creativity at ‘Pixels with Purpose’ Contest

Students at MERI College explored photography through two themes at the ‘Pixels with Purpose’ competition organised by the Precious Pixels Club

New Delhi:  Students at MERI College displayed their photography skills during ‘Pixels with Purpose: See a Bigger Story’, a competition organised by the Precious Pixels Club on October 23, 2026.

Held at Seminar Hall 504, the event encouraged students to use photography to share their ideas and capture meaningful moments. It also gave participants a platform to explore their creative interests beyond regular academic activities.

Two Themes Challenge Participants

The competition featured two themes: Flora and Fauna and College Life. Students captured photographs around these subjects and presented their views through different compositions and perspectives.

The themes allowed participants to explore both the natural environment and everyday experiences on campus.

A three-member faculty panel judged the entries. The jury included Prof. Sadanand Pandey, Dr. Kamal Chandel and Dr. Sharmishtha.

The judges assessed the photographs on four criteria: creativity, originality, composition and relevance to the themes.

Three Students Receive Top Positions

Raghav won first position, followed by Shivam in second place and Sukhleen in third place.

The college presented medals and certificates to the winners. It also gave certificates of participation to all students who took part in the contest.

Photography as a Creative Platform

The event highlighted how photography can help students communicate ideas and present their understanding of the world through images.

The Precious Pixels Club organised the competition to encourage artistic expression and support emerging photographic talent among students.

The initiative also promoted visual storytelling as a creative activity within the college community.
