New Delhi, 09 December 2025
HRDS INDIA is set to host the inaugural edition of the Veer Savarkar International Impact Award 2025 on 10 December at the NDMC Convention Hall, New Delhi. The prestigious ceremony will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh, while Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha will grace the event as the Chief Dignitary.
At this maiden edition, Hon’ble Member of Parliament Dr. Shashi Tharoor will be among six eminent personalities honoured for their outstanding and measurable contributions to public service, national growth, and long-term societal development.
Dr. Tharoor has been selected in recognition of his wide-ranging influence on both national and global platforms. His decades-long work at the United Nations, his impactful role as a parliamentarian, and his consistent advocacy for diplomacy, education, and inclusive development have shaped vital public conversations. As the author of more than twenty acclaimed books, he has also enriched global understanding of India’s history, culture, and modern identity.
His inclusion as an inaugural awardee underscores the award’s vision of recognising multidimensional and meaningful impact.
Commenting on the selection, Shri Aji Krishnan, Founder–Secretary of HRDS INDIA, said:
“Dr. Shashi Tharoor embodies intellectual excellence, global perspective, and steadfast dedication to public welfare. His work has strengthened India’s discourse at home and its credibility abroad. He truly represents the spirit of this award.”
The Veer Savarkar International Impact Award has been established to honour the enduring legacy of Shri Vinayak Damodar Savarkar—a revolutionary leader, reformer, and visionary patriot. His ideals of courage, progressive thought, social reform, and national transformation form the philosophical foundation of this award. HRDS INDIA seeks to celebrate individuals whose work aligns with these guiding principles.
The inaugural ceremony will bring together national leaders, policymakers, thinkers, social reformers, and civil society voices for an evening dedicated to acknowledging contributions that strengthen India’s democratic and developmental framework.
As a nationally recognised NGO committed to Tribal and Rural Development, HRDS INDIA continues its mission across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Tripura, Assam, and Jharkhand—empowering marginalized communities through education, healthcare, sustainable livelihood programmes, and women’s upliftment. Its work has positively transformed the lives of thousands of tribal families.
With the introduction of this award, HRDS INDIA reaffirms its dedication to honouring individuals whose service reflects the values championed by Veer Savarkar—patriotism, reform, resilience, and national progress.
