New Delhi, 12 July 2025

Today marks the birthday of two remarkable and talented women in the Indian entertainment world—Urvashi Sharma and Sonal Sehgal. Known for their distinct personas, fearless choices, and artistic versatility, both actresses have built impressive careers across film, television, and music.

Urvashi Sharma: From Runways to Reels

Born on 13 July 1984 in Delhi, Urvashi Sharma began her journey in the world of glamour as a model, featuring in campaigns for leading brands like Pond’s and Garnier. She rose to early fame through Atif Aslam’s hit music video “Doorie”, which showcased her screen presence and charisma.

Her big Bollywood break came in 2007 with the thriller Naqaab, where her performance received widespread praise and earned her a Filmfare nomination for Best Female Debut. She later appeared in the 2010 film Khatta Meetha, playing the role of Akshay Kumar’s sister.

Although her film career was short-lived, Urvashi transitioned to television and reality shows. She was a finalist in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi (2008) and later starred in the Zee TV series Amma in 2016.

Known for her outspoken nature and independent spirit, Urvashi has never shied away from making bold life choices. She married actor-entrepreneur Sachiin Joshi in 2012 and adopted the name Raina Joshi post-marriage. Now a mother of two, she has stepped back from the limelight and leads a family-focused life.

Sonal Sehgal: Actress, Writer, and Melody Maker

Born on 13 July 1981, Sonal Sehgal made her mark in Indian households with her role as Sanjana Malik in the popular Star Plus show Saara Akaash (2003–2005). Her calm demeanor and natural acting style gained her widespread recognition.

Sonal is not only an actress but also a singer, lyricist, and storyteller. She has collaborated with celebrated artists like Jassi B, Pankaj Udhas, Bally Sagoo, and Harbhajan Mann. She also penned the title track for the film Future To Bright Hai Ji.

Her film credits include Ghajini, Aashayein, Dum Maaro Dum, and Manto. Her subtle expressions and emotional depth have earned her a loyal fanbase. Even at 42, Sonal continues to impress fans with her timeless charm and graceful online presence.
