Over 22.7 Lakh Students to Appear for NEET-UG 2025 Today Across India

4 May 2025, New Delhi

India’s largest medical entrance examination, NEET-UG 2025, is being conducted today, Sunday, across the country, with more than 22.7 lakh candidates set to appear for the test. The exam will be held from 2 PM to 5 PM at 5,453 centres in over 500 cities, including several international locations.

In light of allegations of paper leaks and irregularities in last year’s exam, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced stringent security protocols and multi-layered surveillance systems this year. According to officials from the Ministry of Education, a three-tier monitoring framework has been implemented at the district, state, and central levels to ensure complete transparency and fairness in the examination process.

Most of this year’s examination centres are located in government and government-aided schools, colleges, and universities. The NTA has issued detailed guidelines along with admit cards and exam city intimation slips. Candidates have been strictly warned against engaging in any kind of malpractice, impersonation, or unfair means, which could result in cancellation of results and a three-year ban from all NTA-conducted exams.

The agency has also advised students to avoid relying on unverified sources or false claims, urging them to only refer to the official NTA website for all exam-related information. The aim is to protect candidates from misinformation and uphold the integrity of the examination.

Taking into account the prevailing heatwave conditions in many parts of the country, the NTA has directed all centres to ensure the availability of drinking water, electricity, portable toilets, first-aid, and ambulances to provide a comfortable and safe environment for all candidates.

With unprecedented vigilance and robust logistics in place, authorities are determined to ensure that NEET-UG 2025 is conducted in a transparent, secure, and student-friendly manner.
