The Youth Hostel Association of India’s Faridabad unit celebrated its 75th anniversary on May 5, 2024, with its life members and their families. The event was graced by Dr. Prashant Bhalla, Chairman of Manav Rachna International University, as the chief guest. Mr. Bhalla commended the activities organized by the Faridabad unit and assured continued support from the university in the association’s future endeavors.
During the program, senior members of the association were felicitated. Mr. Maninder Singh, the organization’s secretary, presented a detailed overview of the association’s past activities and highlighted upcoming programs.
The Youth Hostel Association of India (YHAI) is a non-profit and non-governmental organization with a presence across India. Affiliated with Hostelling International, headquartered in the United Kingdom, it operates in more than 135 countries, promoting adventure activities among people of all ages and walks of life. Its aim is to foster a spirit of adventure, peace, and international understanding among the masses.
The Faridabad unit of the Youth Hostel Association of India organizes various programs including trekking, cycling, parasailing, rafting, jungle safaris, and camping in mountainous regions. It collaborates with teams of experts to ensure proper guidance and protection, providing deep knowledge and experience in safety and adventure.
At this event, association members and their families presented cultural performances. The program was conducted by Mr. Maninder Singh and Mr. Kamlesh Dhiman.
Among those present at the event were Mr. P.C. Vaishya, Chairman of the Faridabad unit; Mr. Amit Gupta, Advisor; Mr. Tarik Badar, President; Mr. Harish Bhatia, Vice President; Mr. Amit Chandra Seth, and Mr. Dinesh Bhat, Treasurer, along with other officials of the association.
Prateeksha Kumari is a journalist and strategic communications professional specialising in digital journalism, political reporting, and public affairs. Her work focuses on grassroots issues, governance, and civic developments, with an emphasis on clarity, accuracy, and narrative-driven reporting.
She holds a Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla and has qualified the UGC-NET examination, reflecting her academic grounding in media studies and communication research. Her reporting spans politics, public policy, health, education, and socio-economic issues, and she is experienced in bilingual (Hindi and English) content creation tailored to diverse audiences.
Alongside her journalistic work, she brings experience in political communication and public relations, where she has contributed to campaign messaging, media outreach, and narrative building. She has worked on integrated communication strategies across print and digital platforms, combining editorial judgment with audience insight and data-led content approaches.
