Sri Lanka Tourism highlighted its beaches, heritage, wildlife and wellness experiences while connecting with Kerala’s travel industry in Thiruvananthapuram

Sri Lanka Tourism showcased its range of holiday experiences to Kerala’s travel industry during a networking event in Thiruvananthapuram on October 30, 2026. The programme brought together travel agents, tour operators, media professionals and tourism representatives to promote the island as an international holiday destination.

The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) hosted the Sri Lanka Tourism B2B Roadshow & Networking Evening – Kerala Series 2026 at Hilton Garden Inn.

The event focused on building connections with Kerala’s travel trade and increasing awareness of Sri Lanka among travellers from southern India.

Beaches, Wildlife and Wellness Among Key Attractions

Sri Lanka offers a variety of experiences for travellers with different interests. Its coastal destinations attract beach lovers, while heritage sites appeal to visitors interested in history and culture.

The island also offers wildlife experiences, adventure activities, Ayurveda and wellness retreats. Families, honeymooners and spiritual travellers can explore different holiday options based on their interests and budgets.

During the destination presentation, Sanjaya Niroshana, Managing Director of SLTPB, highlighted these offerings and the importance of stronger engagement with Indian travel partners.

Travel Industry Gets Direct Access to Tourism Representatives

The event included B2B meetings between Indian and Sri Lankan travel professionals. These sessions allowed agents and tour operators to interact with tourism representatives, understand available services and explore business opportunities.

Media networking also formed part of the programme, giving journalists and tourism stakeholders an opportunity to exchange views on Sri Lanka’s tourism development.

Shaji Mathew Mulamoottil, Secretary of TAFI’s Kerala Chapter, and Anish Kumar P K, representing ATTOI, addressed the gathering.

Arfaz Nuwaiz, Area Manager – Cochin, SriLankan Airlines, also presented the airline’s services through a presentation and promotional video. The session highlighted the importance of air connectivity in encouraging travel between the two countries.

Sri Lankan Culture Adds to Destination Showcase

The evening featured traditional Sri Lankan dance performances that introduced guests to the island’s artistic heritage.

The formal programme began with the national anthems of India and Sri Lanka, followed by the lighting of an oil lamp and a token of appreciation ceremony.

Shirani Herath, Assistant Director of SLTPB, delivered the vote of thanks. A group photograph and raffle draw followed, before guests attended the networking dinner.

Kerala Roadshow Series Reaches Its Final Stop

The Thiruvananthapuram event concluded SLTPB’s Kerala Series 2026. The bureau had earlier organised roadshows in Kozhikode on October 26 and Kochi on October 28.

The three-city initiative aimed to connect Sri Lankan tourism businesses with Kerala’s travel industry and strengthen the island’s presence in the Indian market.

Through direct business meetings, media interactions and destination presentations, Sri Lanka Tourism sought to encourage more travel partnerships and introduce Kerala’s tourism professionals to the island’s diverse holiday experiences.
