Piyush Mishra questioned Naseeruddin Shah’s participation in the CJP protest and urged him to comment on Captain Smit Machchhar, LPU and Jharkhand student protests
New Delhi: Actor-writer Piyush Mishra has criticised veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah and questioned his decision to participate in a recent political protest. Naseeruddin Shah recently attended the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park, where protesters demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. After Shah participated in the protest, Piyush Mishra shared a video on social media and asked the veteran actor to also express his views on several other issues.
Naseeruddin Shah Attends CJP Protest
Naseeruddin Shah was among the public figures who participated in the CJP protest held at Shivaji Park. The protesters raised objections concerning the electoral system and demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Following Shah’s participation in the demonstration, Piyush Mishra questioned why the veteran actor, who speaks out on political and social issues, had not also commented on several other important matters.
Piyush Mishra Mentions Captain Smit Machchhar
In his video, Piyush Mishra referred to a recent incident involving a Flydubai flight. He highlighted the bravery of Captain Smit Machchhar and urged Naseeruddin Shah to comment on the incident as well.
Mishra said that a major accident was averted on a Flydubai flight travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv. According to him, Captain Smit Machchhar displayed courage during the difficult situation and played an important role in saving the lives of passengers.
‘Please Congratulate the Captain’
In his video, Piyush Mishra urged Naseeruddin Shah to publicly acknowledge and congratulate Captain Smit Machchhar. Mishra said, “Sir, an accident was averted recently on a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv. Mr Smit Machchhar showed bravery and saved the lives of around 180 people. Please comment on this as well and congratulate the captain.”
Mishra’s question was why Shah, who speaks about social and political issues, should not also comment on incidents involving courage and responsibility.
Questions Shah Over LPU Protest
Piyush Mishra also mentioned the protests at Lovely Professional University (LPU) in his video. He questioned Shah about his response to the issue.
Mishra also referred to an earlier student protest in Jharkhand. He claimed that he had previously sought Shah’s support for students in Jharkhand but did not receive the response he had expected.
Recalls Naseeruddin Shah’s Earlier Statements
Mishra also recalled Naseeruddin Shah’s earlier remarks in which the veteran actor had questioned Bollywood celebrities for remaining silent on political and social issues. Shah’s comments had previously led to a public disagreement between the two actors.
With Shah’s participation in the CJP protest, Piyush Mishra’s latest questions have once again brought their differences of opinion into focus.
Differences Between Mishra and Shah Resurface
Piyush Mishra’s latest remarks indicate that he intends to continue questioning Naseeruddin Shah’s public statements and his position on social and political issues. However, Shah’s response to Mishra’s latest comments is yet to be seen.
