Recognition honours her efforts to expand opportunities for Divyang athletes in Delhi
New Delhi: Delhi Paralympic Committee President Parul Singh received a felicitation from Delhi Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh at “An Evening Dedicated to Persons with Disabilities”, a special programme organised by the Social Welfare Department of the Delhi Government.
The programme took place under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The event recognised the achievements and contributions of persons with disabilities and highlighted the need to create equal opportunities for them.
Parul Singh received the honour for her work in promoting para-sports and supporting athletes with disabilities in Delhi. Through her association with the Delhi Paralympic Committee, she has worked to increase participation and provide para-athletes with more opportunities to compete.
“This felicitation is a great encouragement not just for me, but for every para-athlete who continues to pursue their dreams with determination,” Singh said.
She added that her focus remains on ensuring equal opportunities, proper support and platforms for Divyang athletes to showcase their talent.
Singh also thanked the Delhi Government for its support. She said stronger cooperation between government institutions, sporting organisations and the wider community can help create more opportunities for para-athletes.
