MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat Highlights Collective Responsibility Towards Environmental Protection and Energy Conservation
New Delhi: A round-table discussion on India’s first Electric Vehicle (EV) Park was held at MERI College, Janakpuri, New Delhi, focusing on the future of electric mobility.
West Delhi MP Ms. Kamaljeet Sehrawat, who attended the event as the keynote speaker, stressed the importance of environmental conservation and energy efficiency.
She said saving electricity and protecting the environment are responsibilities that every citizen must fulfil. She encouraged people to switch off electrical devices while leaving homes and offices, stating that energy-saving practices can contribute to India’s overall development.
The event was organised by the International Federation of Electric Vehicle Associations (IFEVA) in collaboration with MERI Group of Institutions. The discussion focused on the planning, infrastructure and future potential of India’s first EV Park.
MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat congratulated IFEVA and MERI for their initiative towards strengthening India’s electric vehicle ecosystem. Delhi Police DCP Mr. Hareshwar Swami also appreciated the project and extended his support.
Dr. Shailendra Saroj, Member of the International EV Governing Council, shared details about the EV Park’s master plan, technical design and infrastructure requirements. Mr. Sunil Bhatnagar, Additional Director at SwitchLab, explained the current EV policies introduced by the Government of India.
Prof. Lalit Aggarwal stressed the need for sustainable solutions to tackle rising pollution and said the EV Park could boost clean transportation. Mr. IP Aggarwal highlighted India’s growing leadership in electric mobility driven by policies, technology and public awareness.
Dr. Deepshikha Kalra presented MERI College’s vision and achievements, while Dr. Rajeev Mishra, President of IFEVA, participated along with industry professionals and academic representatives.
The event concluded with discussions on EV growth and sustainable mobility, with Lt. General PJS Pannu (Retd.) highlighting the future potential of electric vehicles in India.
