New Delhi, 16 May 2026
The Foreign Correspondents’ Club of South Asia (FCC) organised a day-long workshop on artificial intelligence titled “Prompt to Publish” in New Delhi, bringing together senior journalists, editors and communication professionals to discuss the growing role of AI in journalism and media operations.
The session was conducted by media trainer Sunil Prabhakar, who has led several AI and journalism training programmes across the country. FCC Treasurer P.M. Narayanan, while introducing the resource person, said the workshop was part of a broader series of professional development initiatives planned by the Club this year.
Senior journalist Pallava Bagla described the workshop as a “fantastic hands-on experience”, highlighting the practical exposure participants received during the training sessions.
Among those attending the workshop was Prateeksha, a young journalist who runs the Himachal Pradesh-focused hyperlocal digital platform “Kangra Ki Awaaz”. She said the workshop helped her understand several AI tools and practical workflows that could significantly support the research process involved in reporting and long-form writing.
Addressing participants, Mr. Prabhakar underlined the importance of AI literacy and continuous skill upgradation for journalists amid rapid technological shifts in the media industry. He said understanding AI tools and workflows had become increasingly important for media professionals adapting to evolving newsroom practices.
The workshop focused on practical applications of AI in journalism, including prompt writing, research workflows, verification processes, content structuring and publishing tools.
