MERI Hosts International IT Seminar on Quantum, Cybersecurity, and Gaming

The 21st International ‘Aprendemos’ IT Seminar was organized at the Management Education and Research Institute (MERI), an affiliate of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. Based on the theme “Next-Gen Intelligence: Quantum, Cyber, and Immersive Gaming,” the seminar witnessed the participation of distinguished academicians, industry experts, defense specialists, and international panelists from various countries—including Russia and Europe—who shared their insights.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. Lalit Agarwal, Vice Chairman of the MERI Group. He emphasized the need for students to keep themselves updated with the rapidly evolving technological landscape, stating that an understanding of new technologies is crucial for facing future challenges.

In his address, the Chief Guest and Chairman of the MERI Group, Mr. I. P. Agarwal, underscored the growing significance of quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and immersive gaming. He noted that technology is evolving at an unprecedented pace and that the creation of secure and intelligent systems is imperative for the digital future. Emphasizing the importance of ethics, he remarked, “Science is a good servant, but a bad master.”

Sessions covering various topics were conducted as part of the seminar. In the Quantum Computing session, Air Vice Marshal (Dr.) Devesh Vats, Prof. Vineet Agarwal, Puneet Singh, Dr. Ashu Gautam, and Amarendra Satyaseelan presented their views. Meanwhile, during the Cybersecurity session, Air Commodore Rajneesh Kumar, Lt. Col. (Retd.) Harkamal Sidhu, Dmitry Klionsky, and Ritesh Kumar discussed cyber threats and security measures. In the Gaming session, Major General (Retd.) M. S. Mokha, Brigadier D. S. Bajaj, Udit Pawar, and Dr. S. Prabhu shed light on the emerging dimensions of immersive gaming.

Concurrently, workshops were organized on the themes of “Geospatial Technology and its Real-World Applications” and “Cyber Security Audit: The Fine Art of Compliance in the Era of AI and Cloud Security,” providing participants with hands-on training.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Deepshikha Kalra, Dean of MERI. This seminar proved to be an effective platform for global knowledge exchange and practical learning regarding next-generation technologies.
