India and Sri Lanka are working together to host this event. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is about to happen, and it is going to be huge. Twenty teams are playing, and there will be fifty-five matches.

This time, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 holds great significance. Defending champions India are trying to achieve the historic ‘back-to-back’ feat at home, but with an increased number of hungry challengers, the road to the trophy is far from certain.

Teams and Groups

Twenty teams qualified through various pathways, including automatic spots for top performers from the 2024 edition, ICC rankings, and regional qualifiers. They’re divided into four competitive groups:

Group A: India, Pakistan, USA, Netherlands, Namibia
Group B: Australia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Oman
Group C: England, West Indies, Scotland, Nepal, Italy
Group D: New Zealand, South Africa, Afghanistan, Canada, UAE

Venues

The matches will be played in eight good stadiums around the world. These stadiums are a mix of the arenas of India and the beautiful grounds of Sri Lanka:

India: Narendra Modi Stadium (Ahmedabad), M.A. Chidambaram Stadium (Chennai), Arun Jaitley Stadium (Delhi), Eden Gardens (Kolkata), Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai)

Sri Lanka: Sinhales Sports Club (SSC, Colombo), R. Premadasa Stadium (RPS, Colombo), Pallekale International Cricket Stadium (Kandy)

The final is planned to be held either in Ahmedabad or Colombo (RPS), with the venue being confirmed closer to the date. The semi-finals will be held in Kolkata and Colombo (RPS).
