Criminals Fearless in Bihar, Govt Clueless: Chirag Paswan's Blistering Attack on NDA Ally Nitish

New Delhi,26 Jul. 25

The Nitish Kumar-led NDA administration in Bihar came under heavy fire on Saturday from Union Minister and leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Chirag Paswan, for the state’s deteriorating law and order situation. Expressing his disappointment, Paswan said he feels sad to be supporting a government that has completely failed to curb rising crime. He alleged that the state administration has surrendered to criminals, with incidents of murder, kidnapping, robbery, and rape becoming a regular occurrence.

Speaking on the recent gang-rape of a 26-year-old woman in Gaya — a candidate in the Home Guard recruitment drive who was allegedly raped in an ambulance while being taken to a hospital — Paswan said, “This incident deserves condemnation, but the real question is, why do such incidents keep happening? Crime in Bihar has reached frightening levels.” He further added that either the administration is deliberately trying to cover up the situation or is simply incapable of handling it.

Paswan stated, “Some may say it’s happening because of elections, and that could be true. Maybe it’s a conspiracy to defame the government, but even then, it is the administration’s responsibility to control it. How are criminals continuing to commit crimes so freely under your governance?”

This isn’t the first time Chirag Paswan has attacked the state government. Earlier this month, he remarked that “criminals in Bihar have sky-high morale”, and the strategies of the police are beyond comprehension. Referring to an attack inside Patna’s Paras Hospital, he said it was proof that criminals are openly challenging law and order in the state.
