From high-speed trains to digital highways, Modi showcases how infrastructure growth is laying the foundation for a self-reliant and developed India by 2047.
New Delhi, June 11, 2025:
During the past nearly 11 years of expert infrastructural reform, Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarded this as the basis for development and working towards a self-reliant India under the NDA government. In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi reflected on the government’s major achievements in the infrastructure sector over the past decade.
“Infrastructure transformation has now completed 11 years,” the Prime Minister wrote. “From railways and highways to ports and airports, India has developed a world-class infrastructure framework that has accelerated our development. This growing network is making life easier for citizens and fuelling prosperity,” he said.
PM Modi emphasized that the country is now building next-generation infrastructure that is guided by sustainability and long-term vision. He added that this mission continues to strengthen the foundation of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India).
Among some of the notable accomplishments shared were the construction of new highways, and modernised cableways and better port capacities, low-cost and ease of access to flying with the implementation of the UDAN scheme; the changing face of Indian Railways had all seen, and then some. He specifically mentioned the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the launch of Vande Bharat trains, and the new Amrit Bharat Express as hallmarks of railway modernization.
An official post from the Government of India also echoed the Prime Minister’s sentiments, stating, “Smart cities, safer roads, and seamless travel – this is the promise of New India’s infrastructure. Under the direction of PM Narendra Modi, India’s central infrastructure is quickly on a journey to the future. It’s not just about steel and concrete; it’s a journey of spirit and ambition.”
The post added that every highway, bridge, and digital network is helping connect the hopes of Indian citizens. “This is not just physical construction it’s the construction of confidence, connectivity, and the dreams of a New India.”
The NDA government recently completed 11 years in office, with PM Modi first assuming office on May 26, 2014. Since then, the Centre has actively showcased transformative progress across sectors, with infrastructure cited as a key pillar in making India a developed nation by 2047.
Before becoming Prime Minister, Narendra Modi served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014. He is now among the longest-serving leaders in India’s history.
