Breaking Sanju Samson's IPL record for the T20 World Cup, Rishabh Pant just missed passing Virat Kohli.

Breaking Sanju Samson’s IPL record for the T20 World Cup, Rishabh Pant just missed passing Virat Kohli.

This is Rishabh Pant’s first competitive match after he made his way back from serious injuries sustained in a December 2022 vehicle accident.

13 April 2024, New Delhi

The competition to be included in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 roster is becoming more fierce, particularly for the wicketkeeper-batter position. There are other candidates vying for that job, including Jitesh Sharma, Dhruv Jurel, Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan Sanju Samson, and KL Rahul.

However, out of the six, Rahul has not yet found his rhythm, while Samson, Pant, and Ishan have set the pace.

The applicants will need to demonstrate their form and establish their claims in the first half of the season, as the selection committee is expected to debate potential candidates by the end of April.

Pant had terrible injuries in a vehicle accident, and he hasn’t played cricket for his country since December 2022. His first competitive tournament after quickly recovering fully is the 2024 Indian Premier League; however, he has demonstrated form and fitness, guiding the Delhi Capitals in the current campaign.

Pant leads DC in runs scored in the IPL 2024 thus far, with 194 from six games. He has also ripped off a few fifty-score innings.

He contributed significantly to DC’s six-wicket victory over the Lucknow Super Giants on Friday, hitting a rapid 41 off only 24 balls, which included two sixes and four fours.

Throughout his innings, the 26-year-old surpassed the previous mark set by Rajasthan Royals captain Samson to become the third-fastest player in IPL history to reach 3,000 runs.

When the Gujarat Titans played RR in Jaipur earlier this week, captain Shubman Gill set a new IPL record for the fastest time, reaching three thousand runs.

Dr. Udit Raj emphasizes importance of booth-level management to Congress workers, suggests inspiring people through manifesto

Dr. Udit Raj emphasizes importance of booth-level management to Congress workers, suggests inspiring people through manifesto

New Delhi, April 12, 2024:

Former MP Dr. Udit Raj participated on Friday in raising awareness about the importance of booth-level management for workers in the North-West Delhi Lok Sabha constituency at Rokefield School near Rohini Sector-16, Pocket A, Bansal Building, and in Budh Vihar Phase-1.

The distribution of Congress guarantee cards and preparations for the Lok Sabha elections were discussed at the meeting organized by Rohini District President Vishal Maan in Bansal Bhawan. During this meeting, Dr. Udit Raj explained to various office bearers and workers about the importance of booth-level management in the upcoming elections. He also shared his suggestions regarding the distribution of the manifesto (Congress guarantee card).

During the meeting, Dr. Udit Raj informed office bearers and workers that the Congress manifesto speaks about the needs and rights of the SC/ST/OBC/Minorities and emphasizes on secularism. He told the workers that the Congress manifesto talks about the upliftment of all through 5 rights and 25 guarantees. Hence, there is a need to raise awareness among people about it, for which the workers need to work hard. They need to come forward and promote it in their areas. He said that every worker needs to understand booth-level management. If management is done properly at the booth level, the entire region will benefit. He suggested to Congress workers to take Congress guarantee cards to the people according to their booths.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Shambhu Dayal Sharma reached his residence in Budh Vihar Phase-1 to discuss the electoral strategy for the North-West Lok Sabha seat. He urged the workers to cooperate in bringing people of this area to their side so that Congress can win the North-West Delhi seat.

Energen Raises Compliance Concerns under IBC Guidelines

Energen Raises Compliance Concerns under IBC Guidelines

Bidders many but deviations even more. That’s the issue raised by Coastal in their submissions. While they see merit in the process the Banks and the Business believe that better solutions exist

10th April, 2024, Delhi :

In a significant development unfolding within the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), attention has shifted towards Coastal Energen, a notable player in the Power Sector, having commenced operations in 2006 and successfully commissioned a 1,200 MW Independent Power Plant (IPP) in Tuticorin in 2014. Recent proceedings have brought to light contentious issues surrounding the Expression of Interest (EOI) process and the subsequent Letter of Intent (LOI) issued to the Dickey Alternative Investments Trust (DAIT) – Adani Power Consortium. The company was dragged into the NCLT by the State Bank of India in February 2022 following defaults on a loan of Rs. 6,296 crore, which had been provided by a consortium of 13 banks, including the SBI.

The company’s debt surged from Rs. 3,323 crore due to various factors such as a 48-month delay in bank funding amounting to Rs. 2,600 crore, retrospective taxes of Rs. 470 crore, and scope increase costs of Rs. 400 crore. While maintaining engagement with its existing promoters, Mutiara Energy Holding and Precious Energy Holdings, who have collectively injected over Rs. 1,259 crore in equity, the Committee of Creditors (COC) initiated an EOI process through the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) on 10th February 2023. Initial interest was expressed by Jindal Steel Power Limited (JSPL), Sherisha Technologies Pvt Ltd, and Dickey Alternative Investments Trust (DAIT).

Adani Power Limited (APL) was notably excluded from the shortlist of prospective resolution applicants based on IBC guidelines, with the EOI deadline closing on 17th April 2023. Adani Power subsequently submitted a delayed EOI on 29th July 2023, which was promptly rejected by the COC.However, in an unexpected turn of events in October 2023, Adani resurfaced in a new capacity as a joint venture partner of DAIT.While the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) does not explicitly prohibit the formation of consortia before bidding, DAIT alone may have failed to meet the minimum net worth requirement of Rs. 500 crore and the experience criterion of setting up at least 300 MW of Thermal Power.

On a standalone basis, DAIT demonstrates a net worth of Rs. 340 crore and experience limited to developing a 90 MW hydro plant. These developments have raised serious concerns regarding the legitimacy of the bids submitted by the DAIT-Adani Consortium, potentially violating the IBC guidelines.Further scrutiny is warranted given the COC’s rejection of Adani’s earlier EOI submission and subsequent acceptance of Adani as a consortium partner, despite their initial exclusion from the shortlist of prospective resolution applicants.Recently, the COC issued an LOI to the DAIT-Adani Consortium in December 2023 for Rs. 3,440 crore, notwithstanding the promoters’ offer of an 82% principal recovery amounting to Rs. 5,847 crore, inclusive of Rs. 2,327 crore already settled with banks.

With promoters having committed a substantial Rs. 1,259 crore as equity, the total financial support extended to Coastal Energen stands at a significant Rs. 7,097 crore compared to the consortium’s offer of Rs. 3,440 crore. Many mid-sized companies like Coastal Energen have borne the brunt of structural challenges in the Power Sector over the past decade. Addressing the needs of such companies, which have encountered issues beyond their control such as funding delays and policy uncertainties, is crucial for restoring investor confidence and aligning with the vision of a developed India. The matter is presently under legal consideration, awaiting further proceedings.

Engaged with people at Rohini’s Swarn Jayanti Park, discussing Lok Sabha elections and distributing Congress’ justice manifesto

New Delhi, April 10, 2024 :

Dr. Udit Raj , National Chairman, KKC and National Spokesperson Congress
met with people at Rohini’s Swarn Jayanti Park on Wednesday and discussed the Lok Sabha elections with them, distributing Congress’ justice manifesto. During this campaign, he stated that the Congress manifesto not only challenges the ideology of RSS/BJP but also speaks about the needs and rights of SC/ST/OBC/Minorities and the secular public. BJP cannot talk about everyone’s interests, so they are indirectly addressing them. He said that BJP has abandoned the empowerment of these groups and has also taken away the rights given by the former Congress government. He also raised his voice against privatization and the contractor system in government jobs.

During the outreach campaign, while sharing his views with the people, he said that BJP is alarmed by the talk of removing the 50 percent limit on caste census and reservations. BJP’s ideal figure, Savarkar, had talked about adopting Manusmriti instead of the current constitution. On December 12, 1949, the RSS had burnt the effigy of the Constitution and Dr. Ambedkar. RSS chief Golwalkar had said in 1940 that it’s better to remain enslaved by the British than to have Dalits, backward classes, and minorities in power after the British leave. How can those who harbor such hatred tolerate Congress’ inclusive manifesto? BJP leaders keep talking about ending the Constitution, and this conspiracy is also behind the slogans of crossing 400 seats.

He said that BJP’s policies and manifestos associated with RSS are pushing Dalits, Adivasis, backward classes, and minorities towards slavery. The participation of the Muslim community in government jobs and education is not even close to equal, yet the false issue of Hindu-Muslim is being raised. BJP is alarmed by the mention of 30 million permanent jobs, while it failed to provide 1 million jobs during its 10-year tenure. The country’s youth are not demanding answers from Prime Minister Modi, hence the Muslim League’s influence is being created.

He said that BJP is not digesting Congress’ five justice manifesto and 25 guarantees. BJP government’s policies benefit big capitalists directly and indirectly, and the economic, social, and political power of the backward class is completely under control.

He shared Congress’ five justice manifesto with the people:

  1. Youth Justice – What about Muslim League?
    • Guaranteed apprenticeship of Rs. 1 lakh for every educated youth.
    • Fill all vacant positions as per the calendar.
    • Freedom from paper leaks: New laws and policies will prevent paper leaks.
    • Gig worker security: Better work rules and complete social security for gig workers.
    • Youth Enlightenment: A new startup fund of Rs. 5,000 crore.
  2. Women’s Justice – What about Muslim League?
    • Mahalakshmi: Rs. 1 lakh annually to a woman from every poor family, half the population, full right.
    • 50% reservation for women in new central government jobs, Respect for Power: Higher salaries for ASHA, Mid-Day Meal, and Anganwadi workers, with double government contribution.
    • Friendship Rights: A friend who provides legal rights and information about government schemes to women, in every panchayat.
    • Savitribai Phule Hostel: Double hostel for working women.
  3. Farmer Justice – What about Muslim League?
    • Right price: Legal guarantee of MSP, along with the Swaminathan formula.
    • Debt relief: Permanent committee for effective implementation of loan waiver plan, Direct transfer of insurance payment: Money transferred to the account within 30 days of crop loss.
    • Right import-export policy: A new import-export policy will be made according to the advice of farmers, GST-free farming: GST will be removed from everything necessary for farming.
  4. Worker Justice – What about Muslim League?
    • Respect for labor: Daily wages of at least Rs. 400, also applicable in MNREGA, Everyone’s health right: Health cover of Rs. 25 lakh: Free treatment, hospital, doctor, medicine, test, surgery, Urban employment guarantee: A new scheme like MNREGA for cities, Social security – life and accident insurance for unorganized workers, Secure employment – contract system will be abolished in major government works.
  5. Partnership Justice – What about Muslim League?
    • Count: Count of every person, every class for social and economic equality, Right to reservation: Removing the 50% limit by constitutional amendment for SC/ST/OBC to full reservation, Legal guarantee of all plans for SC/ST – As much budget as SC/ST population; that is, more partnership, Legal rights of water-forest-land – Decision of forest rights law will be taken within 1 year, Own land, own rule – Congress will schedule those settlements in the scheduled areas where the tribals are the largest social group.

People’s Say

During this outreach, local people praised this manifesto. A regular jogger at the park Sanjay said that after knowing the manifesto, it seems to be related to the common people. While another morning walker, Ram Lal, said that if Congress does this for the common people, then no one can stop it from winning the elections.
