Justice Surya Kant exposes fake websites in his Name, Calls for Global Action against rising Cyber Fraud

Chief Justice of India, Suryakant, shared a shocking personal story about fake websites in his name at the Jaipur seminar, highlighted borderless cyber crimes, and called for collective action against the increasing fraud.

New Delhi: Chief Justice of India, Justice Suryakant talked openly about the problem of cyber crimes. He was speaking at a seminar in Jaipur that lasted for three days. The Chief Justice of India said that people are making websites with his name on them. These fake websites have his pictures and messages that’re not true.

The Chief Justice of India revealed that fake websites have even troubled his own family. He also pointed out that the problem is worsening with each passing day. Expressing deep concern, he said he is seriously worried about the increasing number of crimes related to such online fraudCyber crimes are an issue, for the Chief Justice of India.

CJI’s Personal Ordeal and Concerns

On February 20 2026 at the Rajasthan International Center in Jaipur CJI Suryakant was at a seminar. The seminar was about Cyber Security, Awareness and Inclusive Access to Justice. CJI Suryakant was the guest. He told the people that new websites are made with his name every day. These websites even have his pictures on them. His sister and daughter got messages from these websites. When people looked into this they found out that a lot of these websites are run from Nigeria.

CJI Suryakant said that Cyber Security is a problem that is not just, in one place. It is a problem that affects the world. He thinks that the courts, the government, the police, technology companies and citizens need to work to stop Cyber Security problems. He compared Cyber Security to stealing taking money from people and robbery. CJI Suryakant said that Cyber Security is now an issue that affects everyone.

Stark Statistics on Cyber Fraud

The Chief Justice of India looked at some numbers from the Home Ministry. Found out that there are more than 6.6 million cyber fraud complaints that have not been solved yet in India. He said that when we are online things happen fast and if something bad happens it can spread very quickly.

He remembered something he learned when he was a child: to think before saying something and to understand something before doing something. Therefore, he believes this lesson is equally important in the digital age. In today’s world, when we are constantly connected through smartphones and computers, we must be even more cautious. In other words, the values we learned in childhood should guide our behavior online as well.

Moreover, the internet offers many opportunities, but it also comes with risks. For instance, cyber fraud complaints are increasing in India, affecting people from different age groups. Rajasthan Government’s Initiative

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma was at the event. Said that they will start special cyber courts to deal with the problem directly. The Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority organized the seminar and people like Supreme Court judges and high court justices and district judges came to it.
