New Delhi: Management Education and Research Institute (MERI), Janakpuri, in association with the Delhi Police, West District, organised a student awareness programme on cybercrime, drug abuse and legal rights on Monday.
The programme was organised by Rangbhoomi, the Theatre Club of MERI, under the guidance of Prof. Lalit Aggarwal, Vice President, MERI Group of Institutions. The initiative focused on educating students about online crimes, substance abuse, legal responsibilities and the need to make informed decisions.
During the programme, MERI students staged a nukkad natak highlighting the risks linked to cybercrime and drug abuse. The performance used everyday situations to show how online fraud, unsafe digital practices and substance abuse can affect young people.
Through the street play, students also highlighted the importance of reporting suspicious activities and approaching the appropriate authorities for timely assistance.
The programme was attended by Insp. Vikas Kumar Buldak, SHO, Cyber Crime; Insp. Amit Dhani, Inspector, Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF); and Assistant Sub-Inspector Lokendra Singh Kushwah, DCP Office, Janakpuri, as Guests of Honour.
The interaction gave students an opportunity to learn more about cybercrime prevention, anti-drug awareness and legal safeguards. The officials also encouraged students to remain alert while using digital platforms and understand the risks associated with substance abuse.
The programme concluded with a message encouraging students to follow safe digital practices, avoid substance abuse and understand their responsibilities as citizens.
