Says it’s about respecting culture and language while performing

At this point in her career, Nora Fatehi is enjoying success in both music and movies. Following the success of her most recent song, Oh Mama! Tetema, she is now prepared to make her Tamil film debut with Kanchana 4, the fourth entry in the wildly successful horror-comedy series. Nora expressed her excitement, saying that because of the franchise’s great pedigree and the originality of the writing, she immediately felt a connection to the project. She was eager to try humor once more after the recent success of Madgaon Express, and Kanchana 4 seemed like the ideal chance.
While stepping into Tamil cinema has been exciting, Nora admitted that the language barrier has been one of her toughest challenges so far. After adapting to Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam in her previous projects, she finds Tamil more demanding, but she dedicates extra hours to rehearsals, especially focusing on line delivery and pronunciation. The actor is grateful for the crew’s support, sharing that their appreciation of her natural comic timing has been encouraging and motivating. For her, it’s about respecting the culture and giving her best to every role.
Having already worked in Hindi films like Be Happy and Street Dancer 3D, as well as in Malayalam and Telugu cinema, Nora reflected on the differences between industries. She believes Tamil cinema is deeply rooted in storytelling with strong emphasis on performances and scripts, while Bollywood thrives on its larger-than-life energy. Both, however, remain equally passionate about cinema, and Nora finds immense joy in learning from these diverse experiences.
