Tourism Meet Held at Bikaner House to Boost Rajasthan Tourism

As part of the ongoing nine-day Rajasthan Utsav, the Rajasthan Tourism Department organized a Tourism Meet at Bikaner House to explore new ways of enhancing tourism in the state. The event brought together industry experts, government officials, tourism representatives, travel agents, and other stakeholders to discuss innovative strategies for attracting more visitors to Rajasthan.

Rajasthan’s Growing Tourism Sector

Dr. Deepali Sharma, Deputy Director of Rajasthan Tourism, highlighted the state’s growing tourism appeal, mentioning that Rajasthan currently ranks seventh in tourism across India. She noted that the past year has seen a significant 28% rise in both domestic and international tourist arrivals, a development she described as a source of great pride.

As part of the celebrations, the department collaborated with Music Veranda to host a talk show titled “Mharo Rajasthan” (Beautiful and Divine, My Rajasthan), featuring insights from six expert panelists. To enhance visitor engagement, Bikaner House has been decorated with large cutouts of popular tourist spots, interactive selfie points, digital screens, and colorful banners promoting Rajasthan’s rich heritage.

New Tourism Policy and Future Plans

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Rinku Meena, Joint Resident Commissioner of the Rajasthan Government, emphasized the state’s new tourism policy, which aims to expand tourism across multiple segments, including heritage and cultural tourism, adventure and desert tourism, wildlife tourism, religious tourism, and festival tourism.

She further outlined the government’s commitment to strengthening tourism infrastructure by improving road, rail, and air connectivity to key destinations. Additional initiatives include promoting heritage hotels and homestays, leveraging digital marketing, fostering eco-tourism and sustainable tourism, and positioning Rajasthan as a prime location for film tourism.

With these strategic initiatives, the Rajasthan Government aims to ensure sustainable and comprehensive growth in the state’s tourism sector, making it an even more attractive destination for travelers from around the world.
