Hon’ble Minister of Power, Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, visited the Ministry of Power and NTPC pavilions at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2024. Accompanied by Shri Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary (Power), CMDs of Power CPSEs, and senior officials, the Minister reviewed initiatives highlighting India’s strides toward sustainable development and energy security.
The Ministry of Power pavilion showcased its vision for Viksit Bharat@2024, focusing on the nation’s energy transition and net-zero goals. Using immersive technology, the pavilion featured interactive displays such as Virtual Reality games, LED globes, quiz panels, and OLED touch screens to engage visitors and raise awareness about India’s energy advancements. Participating CPSEs under the Ministry also presented initiatives aimed at promoting green energy and improving ease of living.
At the NTPC pavilion, Shri Manohar Lal witnessed the innovative Sukh Eco-House, a revolutionary rural housing solution constructed with 80% ash-based materials sourced from thermal power plants. This sustainable and cost-effective housing model reflects NTPC’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and fostering eco-friendly development.
The pavilions underscored the government’s commitment to reshaping India’s energy and infrastructure landscape. With a focus on sustainability and green technology, these efforts align with the nation’s long-term vision for a developed and environmentally conscious future by 2047.
