Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is planning a new journey called ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’ starting January 14. This initiative is similar to his previous ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra.’ The announcement was made by Congress general secretary K C Venugopal. The yatra will start in Manipur and conclude in Mumbai on March 20, covering a distance of 6,200 km across 14 states and 85 districts.
The decision to organize the yatra was taken during the Congress Working Committee meeting on December 21. The committee unanimously suggested that Rahul Gandhi should embark on a yatra from East to West. Rahul agreed to this proposal, and the All India Congress Committee decided to conduct the ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra.’
During the 65-day journey, Rahul Gandhi aims to interact with the youth, women, and marginalized communities. Unlike the previous yatra, this time, he will travel by bus, allowing greater accessibility for people along the way. The route will involve short stretches of walking occasionally.
The states covered in the yatra include Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.
Rahul Gandhi previously undertook the Bharat Jodo Yatra, covering 4,500 km over 150 days, starting from Kanyakumari on September 6. The Congress party leaders had been urging him to embark on another yatra, and in the recent CWC meeting, he expressed his willingness to fulfill the party’s wishes.
