New Delhi, December 11, 2024:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the Kapoor family in the capital as part of the centenary celebrations of legendary actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor.
The Kapoor clan, including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, and Bharat Sahni, traveled to Delhi to invite the Prime Minister to the centenary event. The photos were shared online showing the family with PM Modi and posing for a group picture.
Raj Kapoor, whose 100th birth anniversary falls on December 14, is being celebrated with a series of special screenings of his iconic films. Titled Raj Kapoor 100 – Celebrating the Centenary of the Greatest Showman, the event has been organized by RK Films in collaboration with the Film Heritage Foundation and NFDC-National Film Archive of India. The screenings will take place across 40 cities and 135 venues in India from December 13 to December 15 at PVR-Inox and Cinepolis theaters.

Neetu Kapoor, wife of the late Rishi Kapoor and daughter-in-law of Raj Kapoor, led the family in acknowledging the Prime Minister’s support. She was accompanied by nieces Kareena and Karisma Kapoor, along with her daughter-in-law Alia Bhatt, in ensuring the centenary celebrations receive their due recognition.
The centenary screenings aim to rekindle the magic of Raj Kapoor’s classics, celebrating the man who redefined Indian cinema and left an indelible mark on its history.
